6 WHEELCHAIR OPERATION
Engaging/Disengaging Hill Holder
 For this procedure, refer to FIGURE 12.
When engaged the hill holder will help in preventing the wheelchair from moving backwards by applying pressure against
the pneumatic tire when the wheelchair rolls back.
The hill holder will not prevent the wheelchair from moving forward.
Ensure the wheel locks are disengaged before engaging the hill holder.
1. To engage, (from the seated position) push the hill holder handle (A) down and forward until the hill holder shoe (B) contacts the wheel (C).

When performing STEP 2 it may be necessary to move the wheelchair forward to help disengage the hill holder.
2. To disengage, (from the seated position) pull the hill holder handle (A) up and rearward until the hill holder shoe (B) disengages the wheel (C).
