Basic Setup

Power up.
– Connect the supplied power adapter to the Gigaset WLAN Camera and power up.
Use only the power adapter provided. Using a different one may cause hardware
damage.
ì
Check the LEDs.
– The Ready LED will turn on briefly, then start blinking. It will blink during startup,
which takes 15 to 20 seconds.
When startup is completed, the Ready LED should remain ON.
– The Active LED should be OFF.
It will flash when anyone is viewing live video.
– Either the LAN LED OR the Wireless LED should be ON.

Uninstalling Software

Before you install the Gigaset WLAN Camera software, you have to uninstall former ver-
sions of the software.

Shut down all currently running programs.
ì
Open the control panel of your operating system.
ì
Double click Add/Remove Programs.
ì
Highlight the software, that should be uninstalled, and click Install/Uninstall (or
Change/Remove).
ì
Follow the prompts to uninstall the software.

Installing the Gigaset WLAN Camera

In the Windows 2000 and Windows XP operating systems, you must be logged in as
a user with administration rights. Contact your system administrator for details if
necessary.

Before installing the Gigaset Wireless Camera software, read the information under
"System Requirements" on page 10.

Configuring with the Basic Setup

Initial setup should be performed using the supplied Windows-based setup wizard. This
program can locate the Gigaset WLAN Camera even if its IP address is invalid for your
network. You can then configure the Gigaset WLAN Camera with appropriate TCP/IP set-
tings for your LAN.
Subsequent administration can be performed with your web browser, as explained in
the chapter "Advanced Viewing Setup" on page 20.
