5.D. Cleaning the Optical Head
1.
Turn OFF the instrument. Disconnect the AC Power Adaptor. Do not attempt to clean the Optical Head
while the instrument is ON.
2.
Push the Microplate Sample Tray to the back of the instrument and push the Optical Head from the Home
position toward the center of the instrument (Figure 54).

Loosen the hand screws and remove the Injector Tip Holder from the Optical Head. Facing the front of the
instrument, push upward and then leftward (as viewed from the bottom of the Tip Holder to release the
Tip Holder from the Optical Head (Figure 55). Completely remove the Injector Tip Holder to take out the
Aperture.

4.
Place your hand underneath the Optical Head. Grasp the Aperture and pull it toward you (Figure 56).
Note: Do not touch the bottom surface of the Optical Head.
