3. Using a wrench, turn the tow valves (Fig. 20) on the
hydraulic pumps twice counter-clockwise.

4. Close the hood and tow the traction unit as required.
5. When the traction unit has been repaired, close the tow
valves before operating it.

Using the Cylinder Lock

Warning
The loader arm may lower when in the raised
position crushing anyone under them.
Install the cylinder lock before performing
maintenance that requires raised loader arm.
Installing the Cylinder Lock
1. Remove the attachment.
2. Raise the loader arm to the fully raised position.
3. Stop the engine.
4. Remove the hairpin cotter and clevis pin securing the
cylinder lock to the frame(Fig. 22)

5. Place the cylinder lock over the cylinder rod and
secure it with the clevis pin and hairpin cotter
(Fig. 22).

6. Slowly lower the loader arm until cylinder lock
contacts the cylinder body and rod end.
Removing/Storing the Cylinder Lock
Important
Ensure that the cylinder lock is removed
from the rod and fully secured in the storage position
before operating the traction unit.
1. Start the engine.
2. Raise the loader arm to the fully raised position.
3. Stop the engine.
4. Remove the clevis pin and cotter pin securing the
cylinder lock.
5. Place the cylinder lock in its storage location on the
frame and secure it with the clevis pin and hairpin
cotter (Fig. 22).
