Omron ReliOn HEM-741CREL Instruction Manual: Using The Memory Function; Averaging Function; Measurement Values

Automatic inflation blood pressure monitor.
Hide thumbs

Every time you complete a measurement the monitor stores the blood
pressure and pulse rate in the memory. The Blood Pressure Monitor
automatically stores up to 30 measurement values for both User A and
User B. When 30 sets of measurement values are stored in the memory
for the user, the oldest record is deleted to save the most recent
measurement values.
The monitor also calculates an average reading for each user based on
the values of the three most recent measurements that were taken within
10 minutes of the most recent reading.
• If only two readings are stored in the memory for the
10-minute period, the average is based on the two readings.
• If one reading is stored in the memory for the 10-minute
period, this reading is displayed as the average.
If the date and time is not set, the measurement values and the average
value will not be stored in the memory correctly.
1. Press the ON/OFF START button to turn the power on.

This IS the unit we have and model numbers match along with picture of it. We get an error which reads E4. The manual does not address and E4. Only 4 other E's.
This same question was asked in comments at another "manuals" site but was not answered.
What is an E4 and why is it not in the manual if the machine says it?
