Note
• The machine cannot scan the area within about 0.08" / 2 mm from the rear edge, and
within about 0.08" / 2 mm from the left edge of the Platen Glass.
• You can also scan in originals that are up to 0.8" / 20 mm thick, such as books. Set them
on the Platen Glass in the same way as documents.

Gently close the Document Cover.
Using The ADF

Note
• Set a document on the Platen Glass if you want to scan it at optimum quality.
• When the document is set to the ADF, the first 0.08"/2mm of the leading edge of the
document (the part that is first scanned) will not be read.

Remove any documents from the Platen Glass.

Open the Document Tray.

Load the document in the ADF (1).
Load the document with the side you want to copy, fax, or scan face side up in the ADF.
