7–6 SERVICE AND MAINTENANCE

A NOTE ON SAFETY

To avoid the possibility of injury from the
cooling fan, carry out all engine checks with
the ignition switched off so that the fan is
not operating.
The fan is controlled by ECU (electronic
control unit) and consequently may start to
operate unexpectedly.
When the ignition is on, it is also highly dan-
gerous to touch live parts as the electronic
ignition system has a greater current igni-
tion power than conventional systems.
WARNING
You can injury, burn or shock.
• Make sure engine is off.
• Do not touch live parts when
lgnition is on.
WARNING

children. If a service product has
been swallowed, consult a doctor
without delay.

vironmentally responsible way.
