Answering system
Problem
The unit does not record new
messages.
My own greeting message cannot
be properly heard.
I cannot operate the answering
system.
I cannot operate the answering
system remotely.
While recording a greeting
message or listening to
messages, the unit rings and the
operation stops.
Liquid damage
Problem
Liquid or other form of moisture
has entered the base unit/
handset.
Caution:
L To avoid permanent damage, do not use a microwave oven to speed up the drying process.
Cause/solution
L The answering system is turned off. Turn it on (page 29).
L The message memory is full. Erase unnecessary messages
(page 30).
L The recording time is set to "Greeting Only". Change the
setting (page 33).
L If your own greeting message is not recorded properly, callers
may not leave a message. Record your own greeting message
again (page 29).
L If you subscribe to a voice mail service, messages are recorded
by your service provider/telephone company, not your
telephone. Change the unit's number of rings setting or contact
your service provider/telephone company (page xx).
L Record your own greeting message again (page 29).
L Someone is using the unit. Wait for the other user to finish.
L A caller is leaving a message. Wait for the caller to finish.
L The handset is too far from the base unit. Move closer.
L You are entering the wrong remote access code. If you have
forgotten your remote access code, enter the remote access
code setting to check your current code (page 31).
L Press each key firmly.
L The answering system is turned off. Turn it on (page 32).
L You are using a rotary/pulse telephone. Try again using a
touch-tone phone.
L A call is being received. Answer the call and try again later.
Cause/solution
L Disconnect the AC adaptor and telephone line cord from the
base unit. Remove the batteries from the handset and leave to
dry for at least 3 days. After the base unit/handset are
completely dry, reconnect the AC adaptor and telephone line
cord. Insert the batteries and charge fully before use. If the unit
does not work properly, contact an authorised service centre.
