Eliminating the cause of problems

The model does not move
Motor does not turn;
The model reacts incorrectly to
the control commands or À ies
choppily;
The model does not take off;
The rotors do not allow shut
down;
The model moves forwards/
backward and sidewise, but
does not hover;
The model vibrates severely;
The tail does not permit stabi-
lizing;

Check whether the transmitter and the
receiver are switched on;
Check the battery voltage of transmitter and
receiver;
Check whether transmitter and receiver
frequency agree;
The trim slider of the pitch-function stands
on the upper stop;
Motor is defective;
Motor is too hot;
Connection of rotor head and motor is
loose;
Check the state of the transmitter and re-
ceiver battery charges;
Transmitter antenna not completely with-
drawn;
Receiver antenna still wound up;
Interference;
Rotor blades are twisted;
Motor is too hot;
Batteries are empty;
Trim is not correctly adjusted;
Rotor blades are defective;
Motor is defective.
Check whether the helicopter is exposed to
a draught, e.g. by an opened window or an
air conditioner. Hover À ight is not possible
when there is a draught;
Check whether the principal rotors run true;
Check whether the model is correctly bal-
anced
One or more rotor blades are defective;
Lower and upper rotor revolution run with
different friction on the rotor shaft;
The velocity of rotation of the upper and
lower rotor revolution is uneven;
Correct the trim on the transmitter
Switch transmitter and/or receiver on
Employ completely charged batteries
Possibly exchange the crystal
Ensure that the trim slider of the pitch
function is in neutral position or some-
what below.
Exchange the motor
Allow the motor to cool down
Fasten the rotor head
Employ completely charged batteries
Extend the transmitter antenna totally
Unwind the receiver antenna completely
Make certain that there is no frequency
superposition by other transmitters and
no atmospheric disturbances
Exchange the rotor blades
Allow the motor to cool down
Charge the batteries or exchange them
Correct the trim on the pitch controller
Replace one or both rotor blades
Rotate the motor by hand in order to
ensure that it permits smooth rotation
and makes no unusual noises.
Replace the motor
Close the window / door, switch off the
air conditioner or select a more suitable
room
Possibly balance the rotor blades
Replace one or both rotor blades
Ensure that both rotor revolutions allow
for easy rotation
Exchange the motor
