NOTE: DO NOT place ember material over slot on the
back portion of the burner. Only apply light layer of ember
material over the slots on the front of the burner.
WARNING: The positioning of the
logs is critical to the safe and clean
operation of this heater. Sooting and
other problems may result if the logs
are not properly and fi rmly positioned in the
appliance. Never add additional logs or embel-
lishments such as pine cones or vermiculite
to the heater. Only use the logs supplied with
the unit.
Failure to position the parts in accordance
with diagrams below or to use only parts spe-
cifi cally approved for this heater may result in
property damage or personal injury.

Before you begin - This unit is supplied with six (6) ceramic
fi ber logs. Do not handle these logs with your bare hands.
Always wear gloves to prevent skin irritation from
ceramic fi bers. After handling the logs, wash your hands
gently with soap and water to remove any traces of fi bers.
LOG PLACEMENT
1. Break up rock wool (ember material) into small fl uffy
pieces. Place evenly as shown. Do not exceed 1" layer
covering all round burner ports. Refer to Figures 22 and
23.
2. Apply a light layer of embers to the ports. NOTE:
Excessive amount of embers will affect the fl ame and
the fl ame appearance.
3. Align the two pin holes on Log #1 and press down onto
the burner. Figure 24

4. Slide Log #2 between the back ceramic panel and Log
#1. Push down until log is seated in place on top of the
metal bracket support. When Log #2 is seated in place,
the indentation will align with the protrusion on the back
of Log #1. Figure 25
