Testing Heating Element
in Rear Handle

– Remove the interlock lever – b
10.2.1 or 10.2.2
: Take the wire (1) out of the guide
(arrow).
: Slide the insulating tubes (2) off
the connectors.
– Separate the pin and socket
connectors.
: Connect the ohmmeter test leads
to the heating element wires.

– Set ohmmeter to "W".
Carry out the measurement at an
ambient temperature of + 25 °C
(77 °F).

If the system is in order, the
ohmmeter will show a reading of
about 1 W in measuring range "W".
If no reading is obtained or an
infinitely high value is shown, there
is a break in the circuit. Install a new
heating element.
– Remove the test leads.
– Further operations – b 14.3
Checking operation of heating
element
Run the saw at maximum revs for
no more than 30 seconds with the
heating switched on. The rear
handle must warm up noticeably.

Removing and Installing
– Before removing, check
operation of heating element –
b 14.2
– Pull out the heating element (1).
Install in the reverse sequence.
: Fit the new heating element (1) in
the direction of the switch shaft.
When fitting the heating element,
pay attention to the guides (arrows)
in the handle molding.
Assemble all other parts in the
reverse sequence.
