Troubleshooting

When a malfunction or incorrect temperature occurs and error message will be
displayed.
Display Symbol Condition/Cause
Measurement is below
93.2°F (34°C). Caused when the probe snuggly into the ear
button is pressed but the
thermometer is not
positioned in the ear.
Measurement is above
109.4°F (43°C).
Operating temperature is
outside of the permissible
range (60.8°F – 95°F;
16°C – 35°C).
Blank display
Low battery
Low battery warning
Corrective Action
Retake temperature positioning
canal.
Retake temperature positioning
the probe snuggly into the ear
canal.
Take thermometer to a room
where the temperature is
within the permissible range.
Wait 45 minutes to stabilize
thermometer. Retake
temperature positioning the
probe snuggly into the ear
canal.
Check battery polarity or
voltage. May need to replace
battery.
Replace battery immediately.
Unit will work; however,
replace battery when possible.
