    Cleaning and Applying Probe Covers • Before and after each use, clean the thermometer probe (area that extends about 2” from the tip) with a soft cloth and isopropyl alcohol diluted with water, or wash with COLD soapy water. • DO NOT submerse in any solution or let water penetrate the thermometer.

    Taking a Reading 1. Clean and disinfect the thermometer according to the instructions provided. 2. Apply a disposable probe cover to the clean, dry thermometer. 3. Determine whether the measurement site will be oral, rectal or under the arm. 4. Press the POWER button to activate. The thermometer will beep and the digital display will show the following: This is the LCD display test.
