ADJUSTING THE PARKING BRAKE
1. Check:
• parking brake cable end length
Out of specification → Adjust.
2. Adjust:
• parking brake cable end length
a. Loosen the locknut
b. Loosen the locknut
c. Turn the adjusting nut
length is obtained.
d. Tighten the locknut
e. Slowly tighten the adjusting bolt to the speci-
fied torque.

f. Turn it 1/8 counterclockwise.
g. Tighten the locknut
After this adjustment is performed, lift the
rear wheels off the ground by placing a
block under the engine, and spin the rear
wheels to ensure there is no brake drag. If
any brake drag is noticed perform the
above steps again.

Tighten the adjusting bolt:
0.3 Nm (0.03 m • kg, 0.22 ft • lb)

Tighten the locknut:
16 Nm (1.6 m • kg, 11 ft • lb)
