3. Voltage
• Connect the pocket tester (AC 20 V) to the
neutral light coupler as shown.
Positive tester probe → brown
Negative tester probe → green/red

• Set the main switch to "ON".
• Measure the voltage (DC 12 V).
• Is the voltage within specification?
YES
This circuit is OK.
3. The reverse indicator light fails to come on.
1. Reversel indicator light bulb and socket
• Check the reverse indicator light bulb and
socket for continuity.
Refer to "CHECKING THE BULBS AND
BULB SOCKETS".
• Are the reverse indicator light bulb and socket
OK?
YES

Replace the reverse
indicator light bulb,
socket or both.

2. Gear position switch
• Check the gear position switch for continuity.
Refer to "CHECKING THE SWITCHES".
• Is the gear position switch OK?
YES
3. Voltage
• Connect the pocket tester (AC 20 V) to the
treverse light coupler as shown.
Positive tester probe → brown
Negative tester probe → white/red

• Set the main switch to "ON".
• Set the gear position to " R ".
• Measure the voltage (DC 12 V).
• Is the voltage within specification?
YES
This circuit is OK.
