TROUBLE SHOOTING

PROBLEM

Motor fails to start
Mains supply socket dead
RCCB tripped
Plug pulled out of mains socket
Fuse failure
Supply cable damaged
Cutterblade obstructed
Motor will not stop
Faulty switch control unit
Cutterblade runs
Faulty brake unit

Motor vibrates
Mounting bolt loose

Cutterblade bolt loose
Cutterblade out of balance
Uneven cut
Undulating ground contours
Cutterblade worn
Cutterblade out of balance
Wheels/roller damaged
CORRECTIVE ACTION
Test socket by plugging in another
appliance
Remove mower plug and check
RCCB action. Check the supply
cable for any obvious signs of
damage and replace immediately
if defective.
Re engage plug
Fit a new amp fuse
Disconnect from the mains and
check the supply cable for any
obvious signs of damage. Replace
immediately if defective
Disconnect from the mains and
remove any obstruction
Ensure that the switch lever has
returned to the 'OFF' position.
Disconnect from the mains and
contact your Hayter dealer
Contact your Hayter dealer
Tighten bolts
Tighten bolt
Balance cutterblade
Change direction of travel
