Setup Flow

The following flow-chart illustrates
the flow of the setup procedures for
the NEC
Express5800/320Lc/320Lc-R server.
Corresponding page numbers are
shown in parentheses.

Step 1: Things Required for Setup
Step 2: Prepare for ft series Setup
Step 3: Disable Boot Monitoring Function
Step 4: Starting the ft series Setup
Run [Setup] from NEC EXPRESSBUILDER top menu
Prepare for Windows Server2003 Enterprise Edition installation
and ft control software installation
Insert Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition CD-ROM in the
CD-ROM drive
Enter the product ID of Windows Server 2003
(Unnecessary when OS's Backup CD-ROM is used)
Specify the size of the partition for OS installation
Copy OS module to hard disk
Select language for HotFix
Automatic installation starts:
Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition
ft control software
NEC ESMPRO Agent
Windows Setup Wizard starts
Agree to the terms of software license
Enter user name and company name
Step 5: Set Dual LAN Configuration
Step 6: Set Dual Disk Configuration
Step 7: Update Software
Step 8: Connect and Configure Options
Step 9: Create Volume
Step 10: Set Network for NEC ESMPRO Agent
Step 11: Enable Boot Monitoring Function
Step 12: Set up Failure Management
- Set memory dump (debug information)
- Set Dr. Watson
- Install a network monitor
- Set MTBF type
Step 13: Back up System Information
Setup completed
