10.0 FAULT FINDING

YOUR HEATRAE SADIA SUPREME SHOULD GIVE TROUBLE FREE
OPERATION. HOWEVER SHOULD A FAULT OCCUR THE TABLE
BELOW SHOULD ALLOW MOST FAULTS TO BE IDENTIFIED. FAULT
FINDING SHOULD ONLY BE CARRIED OUT BY A COMPETENT
PERSON.
Symptoms
On/Off switch in Off position
No lights on
front of unit
Thermal cut-out tripped
Broken tap top
Normal level sensor holding signal
No boiling
Thermal cut-out tripped
water
(no lights lit on fascia)
available
On / Off switch in off position
Element failed
Excessive internal scale. (See
'service' page 11)
Faulty wiring to thermistors / faulty
thermistors
Thermal
cut-out trips
Temperature controller needs
regularly
adjusting
Element failed to earth
Defective PCB
& / or triac PCB
Dirt in solenoid valve.
Overflows
Level sensors require de-
scaling or replacing
PCB faulty

Possible Cause
Remedy
Switch to On position
Reset and check for faults
(i.e. scale on thermistor)
Replace tap top (or component)
De-scale / Clean / Dry
Reset and check for faults
(i.e. scale on thermistor)
Switch to On position
Replace element
De-scale the unit
(particularly thermistor)
Repair / replace as required
Lower operating temperature
Replace element
Replace PCB & triac
(sold as a matched pair)
Clean solenoid filter and "work the
unit" or replace the solenoid - see
service Instructions (page 11).
De-scale / replace sensors
Replace PCB
