If the fitted plug is not suitable for your socket out-
lets, it should be cut off and an appropriate plug fit-
ted in its place.
The severed plug must be disposed of to avoid a
possible shock hazard and should never be inserted
into a 13 A socket elsewhere.
Assembly
A
Attach the handlebar 1 with the bolts and the
wing nuts to the handle assembly.
Note: Ensure that the cable clips supplied are used
to fix the cable to the handle.
B
Attach cable to cable restraint 5 ensuring that
sufficient cable slack is available.
Grassbox/bag
C
Attach/remove the grassbox as shown.
The grassbox is fitted with a compactor to provide
extra capacity by compressing debris. To use the
compactor:
When the grassbox is empty ensure that the cord is
released and the compactor is in the down postion.
When the grassbox is filled with debris, pull the com-
pactor cord and secure by winding it round the re-
tainer.
Continue scarifying/raking untill the grassbox is
again full, then released the compactor and empty.
Ensure the cable is not trapped when folding/
unfolding top handle. Do not drop the handles.
Adjusting the Cutting Height

The lawnraker can be set to several operating
heights. For this purpose,
lever 9 outward then
move up or down to the de-
sired raking height while supporting the weight of the
lawnraker with the other hand.
Depending on grass height and conditions set
scarifying/raking height as shown:

Do not rapidly switch off and on.

Release the switch lever 2.
Place the lawnraker on the edge of the lawn, as
close to the power point as possible. Work away
from the power point.
Position the cable to opposite side (already raked) at
the end of each turn.
When raking do not allow the motor to labour par-
ticularly in heavy conditions.
When the motor labours the speed of the motor
drops and you will hear a change in the motor
sound, when this occurs stop mowing, release
switch lever and raise the height of cut. Failure to
do so could damage the machine.

Scrarifying/Raking Tips:
Optimum conditions for scarifying are when the
grass is short (15– 20 mm) and dry/slightly damp.
Scarifying when the ground is wet may damage the
lawn and will result in poor collection.

Promote the spead of grass into bare and weak ar-
eas with good quality lawn seed after scarifying. Al-
low fresh grass seed to root and establish before fer-
tilising, where necessary water to prevent fresh

Starting and Stopping

The tines continues to rotate for a few sec-
onds after the machine is switched off. Al-
low the motor/tines to stop rotating before
switching "on" again.
To aid starting push handle down to lift front
wheels.
Press and hold the safety button 3.
Squeeze the switch lever 2 towards the
