Maintenance

Cleaning the Viewfinder
Use a dust blower to clean the CRT screen and
mirror inside the viewfinder barrel.
Clean the lens and protecting filter with a
commercially available lens cleaner.

Never use organic solvents such as thinners.
Note about the Battery Terminals
The battery terminal of this unit (the connector for
battery packs and AC adaptors) is a consumable
part.
Power may not be supplied to the unit properly
if the pins of the battery terminal are bent or
deformed by shock or vibrations, or if they become
corroded due to prolonged outdoor use.
Periodic inspections are recommended to keep
the unit working properly and to prolong its
usable lifetime.

more information about inspections.
Exchanging the Battery of the
Internal Clock
The camcorder's internal clock is powered by a
lithium battery. If the message "BackUp Battery
End" appears in the viewfinder, this battery
must be exchanged. Contact a Sony service
representative.
