the ignition key in position «2» (see fig. 5) . If the
side stand is not withdrawn , the engine cannot
be started .
9 Warning light (red - U.S.) indicating parking
iight and low beam on.
Warning light (green - Europe) indicating town
driving light o r low beam on .
10 Warning light (red) indicating incorrect flu id
level in front left and rear brake reservoir. When
this warning light is on , top up the fluid level an d
check that braking circuit has no leakages.
11 Warning light (red) ,. fuel reserve . To use the
reserve fuel , bring the tap lever o n the right fuel
tank in position «R" (fig . 10) .
12 Cou rtesy light switch (available) .

The key has three positions :
"a"
Vertical , standstill - key not removable .
" 1,, Turned counterclo c kwise, standstill , button
" A" (Lights) in line with " Park " (parking
light) - key removable .
" 2,, Turn ed clockwi se, all controls are in ; key
not removable . After makin g sure that the
side stand is in rest-positio n (warning light
" Park" out) and power tran smission is di-
seng aged (warnin g light " N" on) start the
engin e by mean s of button " Start " (fig . 7) .
Lighting switch (lights)

It is located on th e right handlebar and has fo ur
positions:

Light selection is obtained by tu rn ing sw itch " A"
(Lights) in the above posi tions.
To go from pos ition " 2,, (Park) to position ,,1>-
(aff) it is necessary to shi ft safety button " 5,, to
the left.
