CHECKING THE SWINGARM

1. Check:
• Swingarm
Bends/cracks/damage → Replace.
2. Check:
• Pivot shaft
Roll the pivot shaft on a flat surface.
Bends → Replace.

WARNING
Do not attempt to straighten a bent pivot
shaft.
3. Wash:
• Pivot shaft
• Dust cover
• Spacer
• Washers
• Bearings
Recommended cleaning solvent
Kerosene
4. Check:
• Dust cover "1"
• Spacer "2"
• Collar "3"
• Bearings "4"
Damage/wear → Replace.

INSTALLING THE SWINGARM

1. Lubricate:
• Bearings
• Dust cover
• Pivot shaft
Recommended lubricant
Lithium-soap-based grease
2. Install:
• Bearings "1"
• Bearing "2"
• Circlip "3"
• Oil seal "4"
Installed depth of bearing "a"
0–1.0 mm (0–0.04 in)
