Once the tire/wheel retainer
is separated from the guide
pin, tilt the retainer at the
end of the cable and pull the
retainer and the guide pin
through the wheel opening.
13. If the cable is hanging under
the vehicle, turn the wheel
wrench in the hoist shaft hole
in the bumper clockwise to
raise the cable back up.
Have the hoist assembly
inspected as soon as possible.
A spare or flat tire cannot be
stored using the hoist assem-
bly until the hoist assembly has
been repaired or replaced.

Spare Tire

Although the spare tire was fully
inflated when your vehicle was
new, it can lose air after a time.
Check the inflation pressure
regularly.
See the tire information label for
the proper tire inflation specifica-
tions.
To determine the location of your
vehicle's tire information label, see
"Vehicle Loading" in Section 3.
Your vehicle may be equipped
with a spare tire that is not the
same size as the factory-installed
road tires on your vehicle.
Section 5
It is all right to drive your vehicle
temporarily with the spare tire
installed. It was designed for use
on your vehicle.
After installing the spare tire on
your vehicle, stop as soon as possi-
ble to make sure the tire is correct-
ly inflated.
When the spare tire is installed on
your vehicle, do not drive faster
than 80 km/h.
Of course it is best to replace your
spare with a road tire as soon as
you can. Your spare will last longer
and be in good shape in case you
need to use it again.
Do not mix tires and wheels of
different sizes because they will
not fit. Keep the spare tire and
wheel together.
