Certification/Tire Label
This label, located on the rear edge
of the driver's door, shows the size
of your original tires and the
inflation pressures needed to
obtain your vehicle's Gross Vehicle
Weight Rating.
The Gross Vehicle Weight Rating is
the maximum permissible loaded
weight of the vehicle. It includes
the weight of the vehicle, all
occupants, fuel and cargo, as well
as the weight of the trailer tongue
if you are pulling a trailer.
Using heavier suspension
components for extra durability
might not change your weight
rating. Ask your dealer to help you
load your vehicle the right way.
Maximum Front and Rear Axle
Weights
The label also shows the maximum
weight that the front axle can
carry (the front Gross Axle Weight
Rating) and the maximum weight
that the rear axle can carry (the
rear Gross Axle Weight Rating).
The weight of the cargo load must
be properly distributed over both
the front and rear axles.
If you are unsure of your vehicle's
front, rear or total weight, weigh
the vehicle at a weigh station. Your
dealer can assist you with this.
