TROUBLESHOOTING
PRObLEM
Engine is running, but
no 240-Volt AC output is
available.
Engine is running, but
no 12-Volt DC output is
available.
Engine stops during
operation.

POTENTIAL CAUSE
1.
If VFT meter display is blank,
generator may be faulty.
2.
Main 240-Volt AC circuit
breaker and/or individual 240-
Volt AC outlet circuit breakers
(if equipped) are in the OFF
position.
3.
RCD safety switch circuit
breaker (if equipped) is in the
OFF position.
4.
Connected electrical cord or
device plug is not properly
inserted into 240-Volt AC
outlet socket.
5.
Connected electrical cord or
device is faulty.
6.
If above possible causes
are checked and eliminated,
generator may be faulty.
1.
12-Volt DC circuit breaker is
in the OFF position.
2.
Connected electrical cord or
device plug is not properly
inserted into 12-Volt DC outlet
socket.
3.
Connected electrical cord or
device is faulty.
4.
If above possible causes
are checked and eliminated,
generator may be faulty.
1.
Generator is out of fuel.
2.
Fuel is contaminated with
water or other foreign
substance.
3.
Low oil level.
4.
Overload or short circuit in the
240-Volt AC system.
5.
If above possible causes
are checked and eliminated,
generator may be faulty.
SOLUTION
1.
Take generator to an authorized Westinghouse
service dealer.
2.
Switch main 240-Volt AC circuit breaker and individual
240-Volt AC outlet circuit breakers (if equipped) to the
ON position.
3.
Move RCD safety switch circuit breaker (if equipped)
to the ON position.
4.
Check connected electrical cord or appliance plug is
fully inserted into the 240-Volt AC outlet socket.
5.
Connect known functioning device directly into
generator's 240-Volt AC outlet socket to verify
electrical output.
6.
Take generator to an authorized Westinghouse
service dealer.
1.
Switch 12-Volt DC circuit breaker to the ON position.
2.
Check connected electrical cord or device plug is fully
inserted into the 12-Volt DC outlet socket.
3.
Connect known functioning device directly into
generator's 12-Volt DC outlet socket to verify electrical
output.
4.
Take generator to an authorized Westinghouse
service dealer.
1.
Check fuel level and add fuel if necessary.
2.
Drain fuel and refill with fresh fuel.
3.
Check oil level and add oil if necessary.
4.
Disconnect all electrical cords and devices from
generator and switch all AC circuit breakers OFF.
Re-start generator and then re-connect electrical
loads individually if possible. Check running and
starting power demands of total connected electrical
load versus generator's rating.
5.
Take generator to an authorized Westinghouse
service dealer.
