Maintenance

Only carry out maintenance work with the engine switched off.
Observe all relevant laws and regulations governing the handling and disposal of used oil,
filters and cleaning agents.
Protect the starting key against unauthorised use.
On engines with an electric starter, disconnect the battery's negative terminal.
When maintenance work has been completed, check that all tools have been removed from the
engine and all protective guards fitted again.
Before starting the engine, ensure that there are no persons in the danger area close to the en-
gine or equipment.

Check air-cleaner maintenance indicator.
Change engine oil.
Check and adjust valve clearances. (Not applica-
ble with automatic self adjusting valve clearance

Clean cooling air area.
Check screw connections.
Clean mesh insert for exhaust.
Change fuel filter element.
Dry-type air cleaner maintenance.
Clean the oil filter.
Siphon water out of fuel tank.
