    Pat. pend. SERVAL Congratulations on choosing the Serval as your new pushchair. It is a high quality R82 product and we are convinced that it will fully live up to your expecta tions. ½ - 5 y The Serval is a unique pushchair for disabled children from ½ up to aprox 5 years of age.

    SAFETY The Serval has erned the CE-mark. This certifies that it meets all relevant European safety requirements. Further the Serval is approved according to ISO 7176/19-2001, EN 12182. The durability of this product is 5 years when it is used on a daily basis. Hereafter the product must be renovated (by R82 personnel) to extend the lifetime.

    TOOLS In the rucksack mounted on the Serval, there is a small bag with an 4 mm Allen key. This tool is used to perform some of the adjustments described in this man ual. In the rucksack there is also a pump for the tyres.

    SERVAL READY FOR USE Serval is folded, when delivered, but is unfolded very easily: 1) The frame is folded out by lifting the push brace. Fold out until the lock fitting (A) "clicks" into place on either side of of the frame.

    The frame can be delievered with either solid tires (rubber) or air tires. The Serval has good suspension, which make it easy to drive, even on broken ground. The air pressure in the tires must be 36 PSI/ 2,5 bar.

    REVERSIBLE SEAT The Serval seat is reversible 180 . The easiest way is as follows: Remove the child before turning the seat around. * Pull the handle (A) on the back, and the alu- minium fitting (B) to release the seat from the frame.

    Serval frame. This requires an interface between frame and seat. Click the interface on to the frame (A) and ensure that safety lock (B) is engaged. If the Serval seat need to be dismounted, please see the section "Reversible seat".

    10 cm forward and backward (A) to obtain the correct centre of gravity and good stability for the Serval. Adjust the interface by removing the 4 screws with 4 mm. allen key and a 10 mm. spanner. Move the interface to the wanted posi- tion and fasten the 4 screws again.

    MOUNT A FOOT SUPPORT Loosen the screws (A) with a 5 mm allen key and the foot support is mounted by placing the bars in the interface. Then refasten the screws (A). For adjusting the foot support, please see sec- tion "Foot support".

    BACK AND SEAT WIDTH The seatwidth can be adjusted by placing an extra cushion at both sides below the seat cushion (A). Please be careful not to get fingers caught between the side frame and the plate. SEAT DEPTH To adjust the seatdepth loosen the Allen screws (B) below the seat cushion.

    BRAKES AND DIRECTIONAL STABILIZER Activate the brakes on the Serval (A). With the directional stabilizer the wheels can be locked in the driving position (B). RUCKSACK Mount the rucksack by mounting the upper straps in the fixlocks (A). Then mount the lower straps with the velcro (B).

    BACK EXTENSION The Serval can be equipped with a removable and heightadjustable back extension (A). Tighten the fingerscrews (A). Make sure that the back extension is se- curely mounted. HEADREST CUSHION To mount the headrest cushion: Without back extension: The straps (A) are attached to the fixlocks (B) at the top back.

    HEAD REST Mounting and height adjustment: Loosen the handle (A). Angle adjustment: Loosen the screws (B) with a spanner. Sideways adjustment: Loosen the screw (C). Fasten all screws at the desired position. Mount the cover on the head support.

    SIDE SUPPORTS Remove the back cushion and mount the side supports in the slots in the back. A) The swing away side supports can, when mounted be adjusted both in hight and width. To ease the placement of the child, swing the side supports away.

    Place the fittings for the folding top in the back of the chair and tightened (A). Push the folding top into the fittings. Now mount the back extention in the same fit- tings again. Do not grap hold of the folding top, when lifting the Serval.

    FOOTREST The footrest should support the child and prevent the child from sliding out of the chair. Do not use the footrest as treadle. Squeeze the two handles (A) together and adjust the height. Turn the handle (B) to angle the footplate. To angle the footrest bar, pull out the black strap below the seat (C).

    POMMEL Mount the fittings to the seat under the seat cushion (A). Pull downwards on the handle (B) and lead the abduction block through the hole in the cushion, into the fittings.

    TRAY Mount the fittings on the sides and fasten with the fin ger screws (A). Mount the tray afterwards (B). Use the Allen key to loosen below the plate and the tray is depthadjustable (C). Max. weight on the tray is 5 kg. HAND BRACE Place the hand brace in the fittings on both sides and fasten with the finger screws (D).

    MOUNTING ADJUSTABLE FIX- LOCKS * Remove the back cushion. * Place the fix-lock (A) in the slot (B) at the rear of the back. Note that the fix-lock has been cut our to fit the back. * Fit the screw (C) in the fix-lock from the inside of the back.

    VEST AND CROSS VEST Mount the fixlocks in the back. The vest and cross vest can be opened and closed by using the buckles and the zipper. * Mount the shoulder straps in the belt fittings on the upper back. (A) * Mount the upper straps in the sides in the belt fittings on the back (B).

    HIP BELT The hip belt can be opened and closed by using the buckles. * Mount the straps in the belt fittings in seat (D). Take care that all the fixations and adjust- ments are placed and fitted correctly and check it on a regular basis.

    PELVIS HARNESS * Open the buckles (G). * Mount the straps (D) in the belt fittings under the seat (D). * Place the user on the harness and close the buckles (G) over the thighs. Take care that all the fixations and adjust- ments are placed and fitted correctly and check it on a regular basis.

    FOOT STRAPS The foot straps can be opened and closed by using the velcro or the buckle (A). Follow the instructions below for mounting. * Open the straps and pull them (A) through the slides in the foot plates. * Close the straps around the users foot. Take care that all the fixations and adjust- ments are placed and fitted correctly and check it on a regular basis.

    TRANSPORTATION BELT The belt goes around the persons chest and around the back of the chair. Use the velcro for closing the belt and lock with the metal lock. Take care that all the fixations and adjust- ments are placed and fitted correctly and check it on a regular basis.

    THERMO BAG * Place the thermo bag in the chair. * Unzip the bag in the sides and place the user in it. * Zip it again. There is velcro slides in the sides of the bag, which make it possible also to use a hip belt. Take care that all the fixations and adjust- ments are placed and fitted correctly and check it on a regular basis.

    SHOPPING BASKET A) Place the shopping on the frame under the seat. B) Attach the shopping basket to the frame by fastening with velcro around the crossbar. SHOPPING NET Attach the shopping net to the push brace frame by fastening the rubber fittings. Any load attached to the push brace affects the stability of the push chair.

    SERVAL The Serval is folded/unfolded very easily and therefore easy to bring anywhere. There are two ways to fold the Serval: 1) with the seat on the frame 2) the seat is dismounted before folding With the seat on the frame: A) Pull out the black strap and tip the footsupport into a horizontal position.

    The Serval is approved for transporting children in motor vehicles, when the wheelchair is placed in forward-facing position. The Serval is not delivered with hip-belt ne- eded to secure the user in the pushchair. The approval is not valid on special made Restraints should chairs.

    SECURE THE SERVAL IN THE VEHICLE 30° * Mount the 4-point strap-type tiedown system 45° 75° in the vehicle. (Follow the manufacture in- structions) * Secure the pushchair to the vehicle, using 15° 15° the4-point strap-type tiedown system. Use either a hook or a strap in the fitting.

    STAIN REMOVAL GUIDE The Serval cushion is removable and can be washed at max. 30 . It is important to keep the frame clean to maintain the validity of the chair. BLOOD Wasoff blood with cold water. If this fails to help, add a neutral kitchen detergent.
