4. Troubleshooting
Problem
Misfeeds occur frequently.
An error message remains, even
if misfed paper is removed.
Cannot print in duplex mode.
You forgot the administrator
code.

Causes
The tray's side fences may not
be locked.
The tray's end fence may not be
set properly.
Paper of undetectable size has
been loaded.
When a misfeed message
appears, it remains until you
open and close the cover, as
required.
You cannot use paper in the
bypass tray for duplex printing.
[Off] is selected for [Duplex] in
Printer Features.

Solutions
Check the side fences are
locked.

Check the end fence is set
properly.

When using paper of a size that
cannot be detected
automatically, use Tray Paper
Settings to set the paper size.

Clear misfed paper, and then
open and close the front cover.

For duplex printing, select Tray
1–4 in copier mode or with the
printer driver.
Select [On] for [Duplex] in
