Preparation Before Use

N Connecting the USB Interface Cable

Do not connect both a SCSI cable and USB interface cable at the same time.
CAUTION

Connecting the Power Cord

Connect the power cord.
Be sure to use only the power cord provided with the scanner.
When connecting the power cord, follow these precautions. Failure to do so may cause
a fire or electrical shock.
WARNING
I Never grasp the plug when your hands are wet.
I Never plug the scanner into a multiplug power strip.
I Never bundle or tie the power cord around itself or another object. Connect the plug
securely into the power source.
I Use only the power cord and plug provided with the scanner.
I Before you connect the power cord, be sure to turn OFF the power switch.
I Be sure to connect the scanner to an AC 220-240V (50/60 Hz) or AC 120V (60 Hz)
power supply, according to your region's requirements.
I Do not plug the scanner into an outlet shared with another device. If you use an
extension cable, pay attention to the total amperage of the cable.
