10. Connect a power cable to the rear of the drive.
11. Replace the server cover.
12. Turn on the peripherals and the server.

Installing a hard disk drive in bay E, F, or G

To install a hard disk drive in bays E, F, or G:

8. If the drive is an IDE device:
Make sure the drive is not a hard disk drive.
Plug a connector on the IDE cable into the back of the drive.
Make sure the other end of the IDE cable is plugged into the IDE connector
(J30) on the system board.
Go to step 10.
9. If the drive is a SCSI device:
a. Obtain a 16-bit SCSI cable to connect the device to the connector on the
system board or on an optional SCSI adapter. A suitable cable usually comes
with your SCSI device.
b. Connect one of the connectors on the SCSI cable to the back of the drive.
c. Connect the other end of the SCSI cable to the SCSI connector on the system
boardc (J41), or to the SCSI connector on an optional SCSI adapter, as
appropriate.
d. If the SCSI drive is a hard disk drive, reinserrt the EMC shield on the bay and
reinsert the bay filler panel.
1. Turn off the server and peripheral devices and then remove the cover.
2. Remove the support bracket.
3. Remove the drive cage.
