    General checkout The server diagnostic programs are stored in upgradable read-only memory (ROM) on the system board. These pro- grams are the primary method of testing the major compo- nents of the server: the system board, Ethernet controller, video controller, RAM, keyboard, mouse (pointing device), diskette drive, serial ports, hard drives, and parallel port.

The system scans PCI slots 1 through 5 to assign sys- tem resources; then the system starts (boots) the PCI devices in the following order, if you have not changed the default boot precedence: PCI slots 1 and 2, system board SCSI devices, and then PCI slots 3 through 5.
