Accounts & sync
Managing background data
1. Tap Settings > Accounts & sync.
2. Tap Background data if you want to sync, send and receive
data any time.
Note Some background applications may use large amounts of
background data which may cause data usage overage.
Allowing background data to sync automatically
1. Tap Settings > Accounts & sync.
2. Tap Auto-sync if you want to sync data automatically.

Adding an account

1. Tap Settings > Accounts & sync.
2. Tap Add account.
3. Select and tap an account type, and follow the necessary
steps for creating an account.

Privacy

Backing up data

1. Tap Settings > Privacy.
2. Tap Back up my data if you want to back up your data.
3. Tap Automatic restore if you want to restore backed-up
data for an application.
Resetting the phone
1. Tap Settings > Privacy.
2. Tap Factory data reset if you want to erase all data from the
phone.
3. Tap Reset phone.
4. Tap Erase everything.
Note To erase all the data on the phone's SD card, such as music
or photos, select Erase SD card check box before tapping Reset
phone.
SD card & phone storage
Selecting the USB mode
1. Tap Settings > Storage.
2. Tap USB Mode. If you turn on the USB debugging function,
tap OK to turn it off.
3. Tap Media Transfer, Mass storage or Ask on connection,
tap OK, and follow the relevant steps.
Viewing the status of space
1. Tap Settings > Storage. The status of space available for
the phone is displayed.
2. Tap Unmount SD card > OK if you want to remove the SD
card from the phone safely. Tap Mount SD card if you want
to mount the card.
3. Tap Erase SD card to permanently erase everything on your
phone's SD card and prepare it for use with your phone.
4. Tap Erase Internal media storage to erase all data on the
internal media storage, such as music and photos.
