2 The controller interface
2.1 Omni interface
A controller will usually have three basic
functions:
• Driving and steering the wheelchair
• Operating electrical adjustments
• Charging the wheelchairs batteries
There are many different control systems for
wheelchairs on the market. If you don't have
the controller interface on your wheelchair as in
fi gure 1, contact your dealer.
To drive the electric wheelchair with Omni, a
special type of input device for connection is
needed. This can for example be an external
joystick, a mini-joystick or a head array.
Handicare offers several external input devices
to connect to the Omni. More information about
these input devices can be found in chapter 5.
Omni is a controller interface by PG Drives
Technologies. More information about the
Omni interface can be found in this manual or
in the Omni operating manual from PGDT (
Controller).

