Input devices

Handicare offers several input devices to
connect to the Omni:
1. External joystick

2. External joystick lite

3. Mini fl ex switch joystick
4. Micro pilot joystick
5. Micro guide joystick
6. Proximity head array
5.1 External joystick
The external joystick (fi gure 8) is a proportional
joystick. This means that the further you push
the joystick from the standard position, the
faster the wheelchair will move. Releasing the
joystick will stop the wheelchair.
Defl ection and 100 grams pressure
Handicare offers the external joystick
mounted in the worktop (fi xed, mechanical
or electrical fl ip-down), chin arm (mechanical
or electrical) and on the armrest.
5.2 External joystick lite
The external joystick lite (fi gure 9) is
comparable with the external joystick. The
reaction is also proportional, but the lite version
requires 50 percent less force than the external
joystick.

Handicare offers the external joystick lite
mounted in the worktop (fi xed, mechanical
or electrical fl ip-down), chin arm (mechanical
or electrical) and on the armrest.
5.3 Mini fl ex switch joystick
The mini fl ex switch joystick (fi gure 10) is a
small, black joystick with 5 different switches:
to the front, rear, right and left and the fi fth is
activated by pressing down on the joystick
shaft. Pressing down the shaft will turn the
controller on or off.
The shaft is available with a hard plastic tip or a
fl exible rubber tip. This rubber tip can be cut to
the desired size.
