This quick setup guide provides instructions to initially setup and use the ALI-TVR7032H digital video recorder (DVR). This device can record
video from IP, HD-TVI and analog (CCTV) cameras. For additional information on the extensive capabilities of your DVR, refer to the ALI-
TVR7032H 32-Channel HD-TVI Digital Video Recorder User Manual provided electronically with your system.
Front Panel
Name
Function / Description
POWER
Indicator is green when the unit is powered on. When the unit is off, the LED is red if power is available.
Status Indicators
HDD
HDD indicator blinks red when data is being read from or written to an HDD.
TX/RX
Blinks green when the network connection is functioning normally.
USB Interfaces
Universal Serial Bus (USB) ports for additional USB devices such as a mouse or Hard Disk Drive (HDD).

RS-485, ALARMS IN/OUT

RS-485 (T+, T-, R+. R-)
T+ and T- pins connect to R+ and R- pins of PTZ receiver respectively.
Controller port:

D+, D- pin connects to Ta, Tb pin of controller.
For cascading devices, the first DVR's D+, D- pin should be connected with the D+, D- pin of the next DVR
Alarm inputs 1 - 16. Alarm input is tied to ground through the alarm sensor. See "Step 1. Connecting alarm devices to the DVR"
ALARM IN (1 through 16)
on page 2.
ALARM OUT (1-G through 4-G)
Alarm outputs 1 - 4 with ground terminations. See "Step 1. Connecting alarm devices to the DVR" on page 2.
Mouse control
A standard 3-button (left/right/scroll-wheel) USB mouse can also be used with this DVR. To use a USB mouse:

Plug USB mouse into the either a front panel or backpanel USB connector of the DVR.

The mouse will be automatically detected. If the mouse is not detected, the mouse may not be compatible with the DVR. Please refer
to the recommended device list from your provider.
The operation of the mouse:
Action

Single click: Live view: Select channel and show the quick set menu.
Menu: Select and enter.
Double click: Live view: Switch between single-screen and multi-screen.
Left click
Click and drag: PTZ control: pan, tilt and zoom.
Tamper-proof, privacy mask and motion detection: Select target area.
Digital zoom-in: Drag and select target area.
Live view: Drag channel/time bar

  • Page 2: Step 1. Connecting Alarm Devices To The Dvr

    To remove a jumper for AC load alarm circuits: Disconnect all cabling from the DVR. Remove the DVR top cover. For more information, refer to the ALI-TVR7032H 32-Channel IP/HD-TVI/Analog Network Digital Video Recorder User Manual provided electronically with your system.
  • Page 3: Step 2. Install A Monitor, Mouse, Power

    Power on your cameras. Step 4. Using the Wizard for basic configuration setup Power on the DVR. Normally, an Alibi logo splash screen appears within 2 minutes. A secondary flash screen will appear showing the status of the HDDs installed in the DVR.

Create a STRONG PASSWORD: We highly recommend you create a strong password for the device using a minimum of 8 characters, including upper case letters, lower case letters, numbers, and special characters, to increase the security of your system.
  • Page 5 Next to continue. In the next window, the DVR will display all Alibi IP cameras it can find on the LAN. You can add any of these cameras to your DVR if the number of cameras plugged into the BNC connectors on the backpanel plus the number of IP cameras you add here does not exceed 16 channels.
  • Page 6 Use the camera record mode Wizard as follows: Repeat “a” and “b” above for each camera, and/or click Copy to copy the recording mode of the selected camera to other cameras in the system. On the Cameras line at the top of the window, open the drop-down list and select the camera you want to configure for recording.

    User Name with administrative privileges, enter its password, then click OK. NOTE: A window of Menu icons will open. The default user “admin” has the default password of “1111”.
