stabilising functionality
is
restricted
in ESC sport mode. The driven wheels
may start to spin, causing the vehicle to
lose grip, in particu lar on slippery or wet
roads.

When
the ESC/traction control system
(ASR) is switched off, the vehicle will not
be stabilised.

Note
- If a malfunction occurs in the Audi mag-
netic ride system, the ESC sport mode
cannot be switched on and the ESC can-
not be switched off. If the ESC sport
mode is activate.d or the ESC is off, the
ESC will automatically be
reactivated.

The ESC sport mode cannot be switched
on (i.e. the ESC/ASR cannot be switched
off) while the cruise control system* or
adaptive cruise control* is actively regu-
lating
the speed.
Brakes
New brake pads
New brake pads do not give full braking effect
for the first 400 km, they must first be "bed-
ded in". However, you can compensate for the
slightly reduced braking effect by applying
more pressure on the brake pedal. Avo id plac-
ing a
heavy load
on the brakes during the run-
ning-in period

Wear
The rate of wear on the
brake pads
depends a
great deal on how you drive and the
condi-
tions in which the vehicle
is
operated. Nega-
tive factors are, for instance, city traffic, fre-
quent short trips or hard
driving
with abrupt
starts and
stops.
Noises
Brake noise may develop
in
certain situations,
depending on the speed, braking force and
ambient conditions (such as temperature and
relative
humidity)
