8. Install the hard disk drive into the drive bay with the screws that come with the
drive.
9. Slide the drive into the drive bay until it snaps in place.
10. Route the signal cable so that it does not block the airflow to the rear of the
drives or over the microprocessor.
11. Connect the power cable to the back of the drive. The connectors are keyed
and can be inserted only one way.
12. Replace the internal hard disk drive bracket (see "Replacing the internal
drive-bay bracket" on page 65).
13. Replace the bezel (see "Replacing the bezel" on page 66).
14. Replace the side cover (see"Replacing the side cover" on page 67).
15. Reconnect the external cables and power cords.
16. Turn on the attached devices and the computer.
Installing a Ultra320 SCSI, SATA, or SAS drive in bay 2 or 4
To install a hard disk drive in bay 2 or 4, complete the following steps:
1. Read the safety information that begins on page vii, the Installation guidelines
on page 35, and the documentation that comes with the drive.
2. Turn off the computer and all attached devices; then, disconnect all external
cables and power cords.
3. Remove the side cover (see "Removing the side cover" on page 41).
4. Remove the bezel (see "Removing the bezel" on page 42).
5. Remove the internal drive-bay bracket (see "Removing the internal drive-bay
bracket" on page 43).
