Energy-Saving Tips

• Shelves should not be lined with aluminum foil, wax paper, or paper toweling. Liners
interfere with cold air circulation, making the unit less efficient.
• Organize and label food to reduce door openings and extended searches. Remove
as many items as needed at one time, and close the door as soon as possible.

Setting the Temperature Control

Demo Mode
When freezer controls are set to Demo
(Demonstration) mode, the word DEMO
will appear in the lower right hand
corner of the control panel display
window. Demo mode is for sales purposes
only. It prevents cooling in the freezer
compartment while a freezer is plugged in
for display on the sales floor.
If the freezer is in Demo mode in your
home, the freezer compartment will not
become cold and will not freeze food
contents. You must turn Demo mode off
for freezer to function properly.
To turn Demo Mode off:
Press the control panel down arrow ˅, up
arrow ^ and "set" button at the same
time for 3 to 5 seconds (until you hear a
beep). Then press up arrow ^ for 3 to 5
• The appliance should be located in the
coolest area of the room, away from
heat producing appliances or heating
ducts, and out of direct sunlight.
• Let hot foods cool to room temperature
before placing in the unit. Overloading
the appliance forces the compressor to
run longer. Foods that freeze too slowly
may lose quality or spoil.
• Be sure to wrap foods properly, and wipe
containers dry before placing them in
the unit. This cuts down on frost build-up
seconds (until you hear a beep). The word
DEMO will disappear from the display
window confirming the Demo mode has
turned off. The freezer will now function
normally. Allow 4 hours for the freezer
compartment to cool down completely
before use.
