Trunking has the ability to and the VoIP network from the PSTN (public switched telephone
hop on
network). Once the user wants to make a long distance call or international call, he can first to a nearby
VoIP trunking gateway device. ZyXEL trunking gateway device can place calls across the long distance over
hop off
the IP network, and then the network at the device nearest the desired destination and onto the local
PSTN to complete the call.
Thus, user calling from the PSTN will be able to reduce long distance telephone charges by first calling ZyXEL
trunking gateway device via a local telephone number.
