This chapter provides detailed explanation of the Switching commands. The commands are divided into four functional groups:
Show commands display switch settings, statistics, and other information.
Configuration Commands configure features and options of the switch. For every configuration command there is a show
command that displays the configuration setting.
Copy commands transfer or save configuration and informational files to and from the switch.
Clear commands clear some or all of the settings to factory defaults.

8.1 System Information and Statistics Commands

8.1.1 show arp switch

This command displays connectivity between the switch and other devices. The Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) cache
identifies the MAC addresses of the IP stations communicating with the switch.
show arp switch

A unicast MAC address for which the switch has forwarding and/or filtering information. The format is 6
MAC Address
two-digit hexadecimal numbers that are separated by colons, for example 01:23:45:67:89:AB
The IP address assigned to each interface.
IP Address
A valid slot number and a valid port number.

8.1.2 show eventlog

This command displays the event log, which contains error messages from the system. The event log is not cleared on a
system reset.
