5-2. Imaging problems (for both digital and analog)

Problem
1. The screen is too bright or too dark.
2. The screen suddenly became dark. / The
value for "Brightness" in the Adjustment
menu cannot be set to 70% or higher.
3. Characters are blurred.
4. Afterimages appear.
5. Green/red/blue/white dots or defective
dots remain on the screen.
6. Interference patterns or pressure marks
remain on the screen.
7. Noise appears on the screen.

• Use"Brightness"or"Contrast"intheAdjustmentmenu

contactyourlocaldealer.)
• Turnonthe"AutoEcoView"functionintheAdjustment
menu.Themonitordetectstheenvironmentalbrightness
toadjustthescreenbrightnessautomatically(see"4-
2.Enabling/DisablingAutomaticBrightnessAdjustment"
(page24)).
• The monitor always monitors its internal temperature.
If the internal monitor reaches a high temperature and
exceedsthespecifiedvalue,themonitorwillautomatically
enterthefollowingstatetodecreasethetemperature.
 - When"Brightness"exceeds70%,reducethesetting
valueto70%.
 - Thesettingvaluefor"Brightness"cannotbesetto70%
orhigher.
Thisstatewillreturntotheoriginalwhentheinternal
temperaturedecreases.
Iftheinternaltemperatureincreasesfurtherevenafter
the"Brightness"settingisdecreased,a"WARNING"
messageisdisplayedandthemonitorpoweris
automaticallyturnedoff.(Powerindicatorflashesgreen.)
• CheckwhetherthePCisconfiguredtomeettheresolution
andverticalscanfrequencyrequirementsofthemonitor.

• Use"OutlineEnhancer"intheAdjustmentmenutoadjust
it(see"Toenhanceoutlineofimage"(page18)).
• AfterimagesareparticulartoLCDmonitors.Avoid
displayingthesameimageforalongtime.
• Usethescreensaverorpowersavingfunctiontoavoid
displayingthesameimageforextendedperiodsoftime.
• ThisisduetoLCDpanelcharacteristicsandisnota
failure.
• Leavethemonitorwithawhiteorblackscreen.The
symptommaydisappear.
• WhenenteringthesignalsofHDCPsystem,thenormal
imagesmaynotbedisplayedimmediately.
