2.4 Selection of collector types

We recommend Vitosol 250 vacuum
tube collectors as preferred option for
installation on flat roofs or on walls.

For installations on walls, balconies or

balustrades, we recommend you size
the collector area some 20 % greater due
to the steep inclination of the collectors.
Note
Collectors are no replacement for
banisters.
However, collectors may also be
installed on pitched roofs (vacuum tubes
may be positioned at right angles or
parallel to the ridge of the roof).
Viessmann offers universal fastening
systems which can be used for almost
all types of roofing and which simplify
installation on roofs and walls.
Note
The collector system meets the
following static load requirements:
Flat roofs
H Snow load zone 1 and 2 completely
H Snow load zone 3,
up to 700 m above sea level
H Snow load zone 4,
up to 500 m above sea level
Pitched roofs
H Snow load zone 1 and 2 completely
H Snow load zone 3,
up to 800 m above sea level
H Snow load zone 4,
up to 600 m above sea level
