2.4 Selection of collector types

We recommend Vitosol 200 vacuum
tube collectors as preferred option for
installation on flat roofs or on walls. installation on flat roofs or on walls

balustrades, we recommend you size
the collector area some 20 % greater due
to the steep inclination of the collectors.
Note
Collectors are no replacement for
banisters.
However, collectors may also be
installed on pitched roofs (vacuum tubes
may be positioned at right angles or
parallel to the ridge of the roof).
When installed parallel to the roof ridge
on roofs with a shallow pitch, the angle
of inclination of the absorber can be
partially compensated by rotating the
tubes by up to 25º.
The angle of inclination can be adjusted
to a maximum of 25º for flat roof
installations.
In vertical installations, deviations from
south can be compensated by axial
rotation (max. 25º) of the vacuum tubes.
Viessmann offers universal fastening
systems which can be used for almost
all types of roofing and which simplify
installation on roofs and walls.
The fixing systems are statically
designed for the snow load zone 3 to
800 m above sea level.
Viessmann offers a special solar panel
support to prevent breakages on tiled
roofs or for areas where snow loads

above 2.6 kN/m are expected.
For this application, obtain a plastic tile
manufactured by Klöber from your local
builders' merchant.
