Touchpad button board

Description
Touchpad button board
Before removing the touchpad button board, follow these steps:
1.
Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the
computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2.
Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3.
Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet, and
then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.

Remove the battery (see

Hard drive
d.
Optical drive

Top cover (see
Remove the touchpad button board:
1.
Position the top cover upside-down.
2.
Disconnect the cable from the touchpad (1).
3.
Disconnect the cable from the card reader board (2).
4.
Remove the Phillips PM2.0×3.0 screw (3) that secures the button board to the top cover.
5.
Lift the right side of the touchpad button board up, and then pull it to the right to remove it from the
slot (4).
