Setting server service
Use the steps below to set up any of the following services. A
service that is set to ENABLE can be started up and used.
FTP server In LAN mode, this service accepts access
service: from an FTP client and transfers files.
However, it cannot write files to P2 cards.
Samba server In LAN mode, this service allows you to
service: load P2 cards and hard disks externally as
network drives. (But it cannot write data to
P2 cards.)
HTTP server In LAN mode, this service allows you to
service: view P2 card thumbnails and metadata,
and play back proxy data (only when the
client device supports playback) using an
external browser.

Setup procedure
Enter using the full keyboard.
ENABLE: Enables PROXY server
DISABLE: Disables PROXY server

Open the thumbnail screen.

Press the MENU button.

Use the cursor buttons to choose [NETWORK] -
[SETUP] - [SERVER] and press the SET button.

The server screen appears.
Current settings appear. Use the cursor buttons to select
an item and press the SET button to set it.

Enter using the full keyboard.
ENABLE: Starts up FTP server.
DISABLE: Does not start up FTP server.
ENABLE: Starts up SAMBA service.
DISABLE: Does not start up SAMBA service.
Enter using the full keyboard.
ENABLE: Starts up HTTP server.
DISABLE: Does not start up HTTP server.
Sets user ID and password for login user. (Opens a separate
screen.)
ENABLE: Starts up FTP server
• The NETWORK in the LAN setup screen must also be set to
ENABLE.
DISABLE: Does not start up FTP server
Set the time that should elapse before an FTP connection is
canceled when no command is received and the time that should
elapse before a file transfer set to pending is terminated.
The following values can be set: 0 (no time-out), 2 min, 5 min, 10
min and 20 min.
