Check of limit density

When installing an air conditioner in a room, it is
necessary to ensure that even if the refrigerant
gas accidentally escapes, its density does not
exceed the limit level.
If the density might exceed the limit level, it is
necessary to set up an opening between it and the
adjacent room, or to install mechanical ventilation
which is interlocked with a leak detector.
(Total refrigerant charged amount: kg)
(Min. indoor volume where the indoor unit is installed: m³)
< Limit density 0.3 (kg/m
The limit density of refrigerant which is used in this
3
unit is 0.3 kg/m
(ISO 5149).
The shipped outdoor unit comes charged with the
amount of refrigerant fixed for each type, so add it
to the amount that is charged at the field. (For the
refrigerant charge amount at shipment, refer to the
unit's nameplate.)
This unit requires no additional refrigerant charge up to tubing length 30 m. In case
of more than 30 m, additional refrigerant charge is required. Refer to Table 1-1.
In case of multi type installation, indoor units should be installed within the same
room. If multi type indoor units are installed in different rooms, temperature control
may develop problems because thermostat operation must follow the thermostat
condition of 1 indoor unit only (the main unit).

Minimum indoor volume & floor area relative to the
amount of refrigerant are roughly as given in the
following table.

Pay special attention to any
location, such as a basement
or recessed area, etc. where
leaked refrigerant can
collect, since refrigerant gas
is heavier than air.
