SECTION 5—ARMS

Replacing Clothing Guards (Fixed Height Arms Only)

NOTE: For this procedure, refer to FIGURE 5.4.
1. Remove the four mounting screws that secure the existing clothing guard to the
armrest assembly.
2. Install new clothing guard and securely tighten with the existing mounting screws.
Converting Between Space Saver and Conventional
Arms
NOTE: For this procedure, refer to FIGURE 5.5.
NOTE: Space Saver arms do not work with the following:
• Adjustable angle back option.
• Jymni Recliner.
1. Remove the arms from the wheelchair. Refer to Removing or Replacing Armrest on
page 38.
2. Remove the locknut and hex screw that secure the arm socket to the wheelchair frame.
3. Repeat STEP 2 for the opposite side of the wheelchair.
4. Reposition the arm socket to one of two positions:
CONVENTIONAL
SPACE SAVER
NOTE: Make sure arm sockets sit flush against the wheelchair frame.
5. Reinstall the hex screw and locknut that secure the arm socket to the wheelchair frame
and securely tighten.
6. Repeat STEP 5 for the opposite side of the wheelchair.
7. Refer to the following chart to determine the rear wheel axle spacer needed:

8. To install the rear wheel axle spacer, refer to Removing/Installing the Rear Wheels on
page 45.
9. Install the new arms onto the wheelchair. Refer to Removing or Replacing Armrest on
page 38.
