Passphrase
Use this to generate a Hex key from an ASCII string. Enter a word or
group of printable (ASCII) characters in the Passphrase box and click
the Generate button to generate the WEP Key.
WEP Key Index
This is only useful in Infrastructure mode. It is possible for an Access
Point to have more than one (1) key, but only one can be the default
key. This index must be set to match the default key index on the
Access Point. Normally, this is one (1).
WEP
This must match the authentication method used on the Access Point.
Authentication
Disabled - No security is used. Data is not encrypted before
transmission.
WEP
The 802.11b standard. Data is encrypted before transmission. You
have 2 options:
WEP 64 Bit - this uses 64-bit encryption. You must enter the WEP
key (10 Hex characters).
WEP 128 Bit - this uses 128-bit encryption. You must enter the
WEP key (26 Hex characters).
WPA-PSK
Like WEP, data is encrypted before transmission. WPA-PSK is a
later standard than WEP, and provides better security. If all your
Wireless stations support WPA-PSK, you should use this rather
than WEP.
Enter the key value you wish to use. Other stations must have the
same key value.
In Infrastructure mode, this key must match the Default Key
value on the Access Point.
Keys must be entered in Hex. Hex characters are the digits ( 0 ~
9 ) and the letters A ~ F.
