• Insulate yourself from the work and ground.
• Always wear dry insulating gloves.

1. Remove the input power to the Power Wave
S500 machine.
2. Perform the Case Cover Removal and
Capacitor Discharge Procedure.
3. Locate the Multi-Phase Chopper Board located
on the lower right side of the machine. See
Figure F.13.

5. Using a 7/16" wrench, label and remove leads
BL1, BL2, BL3, BL4, BL5 and BL6 from the
Chopper Board. Save the bolts and lock wash-
ers for reassembly.

6. Label and remove the six Output Choke leads
from the negative bus bar located near the left
side front of the machine. See Figure F.13.
Note the choke leads are connected in pairs.
The same lead pairs must be reconnected to
each other on the bus bar.

7. Check the continuity of each of the individual
choke coils.
See the Wiring Diagram. The
resistance should be less than 0.5 ohms of
resistance. Also when all the individual choke
coils are separated they should NOT have con-
tinuity to each other. See the Wiring Diagram.
