2.3 Ink cartridge
Use the specified ink cartridge.
Using ink cartridges other than those specified may adversely affect finished prints and cause problems.

• When discarding used ink cartridges, comply with local ordinances and regulations.

2.3.1 Handling ink cartridges

• We recommend that you use ink cartridges before the expiration date printed on the cardboard box. Using it after its
expiration date may adversely affect print quality.
• Use each ink cartridge within six months after attaching it to the printer to ensure good print quality.
• If you move ink cartridges from a cold place to a warm place, wait until their temperature matches the room temperature
before attaching them to the printer.
• Do not touch the Printed Circuit Board (PCB) on ink cartridges. Doing so may cause print errors.

• Cartridge-specific information such as remaining amount of ink is contained in the PCB.
• Ink cartridges cannot be reused.
• If you remove and store an ink cartridge, be careful to keep dust off of the ink supply hole and valve. The valve is inside
the ink supply hole. Although the hole itself need not be plugged, care must be taken to keep both the hole itself and the
surrounding area clean.
• Do not touch the ink supply hole of the ink cartridge. Doing so may cause ink leakage from the ink supply hole.
• Do not drop ink cartridges or give shocks to them. That may cause ink leakage.
• Ink is hard to remove if it adheres to skin such as your hands. Immediately wash with soap and water. If you get ink in
your eyes, immediately rinse them with water. If any abnormal condition occurs, contact a physician as soon as possible.

2.3.2 Storing ink cartridges

• Storage environment
Ink cartridges in their packages can be stored at temperatures from -30 to 40°C. If the room temperature is around 40°C,
use the ink cartridge within one month.

• When using ink cartridges, wait until the ink temperature matches the room temperature before attaching
them to the printer.
• Keep ink cartridges out of reach of children. Do not drink ink.
